SOE used 3D scanning to record architectural sites & elements in Venice documented by scholar John Ruskin in the 19th century. We returned to the same locations where Ruskin captured some of the first architectural daguerreotypes and used photogrammetry to continue his project of “watching old buildings with anxious care” through documentation. Using emerging technologies such as photogrammetry, we focused on documenting remaining architectural elements, such as a recently restored column on the exterior of the Palazzo Ducale.
